DescriptionPewter salt cellar with a two-tier flaring body with a beaded rim, standing on a moulded, round foot with a beaded rim.Label TextThough unmarked, this salt cellar is attributed to William Will through its intriguing relationship to another pewter form. The mold used to cast its body is the same Will is believed to have used to cast his pedestal-foot cream pots. Its edges are textured with two different sizes of beading, applied mechanically with a special tool often employed during this era by Philadelphia's top pewtersmiths.
