Label TextChristopher Pinchbeck the elder (1669/70-1732) was an English clockmaker, watchmaker, toyman, and maker of automata. He invented an alloy known as "Pinchback” which resembles gold but is made from cheaper materials (brass). He served as Clockmaker to King George III.
