DescriptionTapered cylindrical body with applied rim and base moldings, the leaf-encrusted swan spout set above middle of body. Reverse-scroll pearwood handle set in silver sockets, the upper conical, the lower scrolled with bud tip. Hinged to upper socket is lid with deeply molded sides and flat top centering a molded urn finial.InscribedOwners' initials (R over D A) and weight engraved on underside of base.
MarkingsSide of body 3/4" below rim: black letter iF in shaped shield; lion passant; date letter "E" for 1740-1741; leopard's head crowned. Under lid: lion passant.
