DescriptionLarge tea or coffeepot with a bulbous body, stepped towards the lip and embellished with two bands of triple beading, composed of a course of large beads in between two courses of smaller beads. Its scrolled handle bears an acanthus thumb rest and joins an en suite socket on each end with an ivory insulator. The spout is "S" shaped and has two panels of broad flutes. A stepped circular base has a band of triple-beading at the junction with the body and the foot ring. Rising to a bulbous dome, its hinged lid is topped by a mushrooming berry and leaf finial.InscribedFront of the body engraved with the Tucker family crest of a lion's paw holding a battle axe, over a "T" in sprigged script.
MarkingsBottom of body struck with "G.EOFF" in relief within a rectangle, "J.H.CONNOR" in relief within a serrated rectangle, "S" below a star in relief within an oval struck two times, and a group of three imitation British hallmarks.
