DescriptionHigh-back Windsor Arm chair: curved, shaped cresting terminating in scrolled ears; seven tapering spindles connect cresting rail to center crest of arm rail; shaped, semi-circular arm rail terminates in circular grips with raised, shaped crest at rear; arms have "S" shaped supports with flat sides dowelled into seat; nine tapering spindles fill in space between arm supports; shaped saddle seat supported on four sharply raking legs dowelled into underside of seat, each leg baluster and ring turned at top with cylindrical section below terminating in clipped, ovoid feet; turned, bulbous side stretcher and turned, bulbous and ring turned medial stretcher.Woods: Tulip poplar-seat; hickory-arm rail; maple- legs and stretchers.
Markings"1A" carved on underside of seat.
