DescriptionRectangular quilt covered with indigo resist cotton printed in a design of scrolling vines with large rose-like flowers. The indigo resist top is pieced up and attached to an earlier quilt with widely spaced cotton thread ties. The indigo resist is folded over to the back and stitched with cotton thread. The earlier quilt is indigo wool and cotton backed with mustard-color wool and cotton, quilted in diamonds using blue cotton through black-brown woolen batting. Edges of the original quilt are turned in and stitched.ProvenanceMrs. Lawrence J. Ullman, Tarrytown, New York. Quilt said to be American.
