DescriptionApeparance: Oval top dining table in open position; one leaf at each side made of one piece of mahogany and extending nearly to floor in closed position; outline of skirt at each end straight in central section with cyma downward curve at each side; legs square in section at area of skirt; legs circular in section below skirt and tapering inward to terminate in a flattened ball grasped by four claws with well-defined knuckles; each claw and ball foot made originally of more than one piece of wood; two of the four legs are on a gate hinged to swing from opposite sides of table for support of top.Woods: The gates and frame are maple; the blocks beneath the top are of chestnut and white pine.
