DescriptionGathered valance, one of two, printed in blue on white with rural scenes, including four men being watched by a hunter as they cut and bundle wheat; two men working with pick and shovel near a cart and a pair of horses; two soldiers and two women conversing by a stream; two soldiers and two woman conversing by a stream; and a group seated around a campfire while a donkey carrying a baby in a wicker container grazes nearby. Valance is gathered to resist-printed binding across the top and bound on two sides with blue linen tape. The valance once had netted fringe, which is now missing.1777 (dated)
