DescriptionBeaker shaped vase with wide spreading lip and molded spreading base. Bluish tin glaze decorated in blue with an oriental landscape incorporating a man, a bracket-roofed house, bamboo, and a trellis.
Label TextA London-shaped water bottle painted with Chinese figures in the same style is in the Ashmolean Museum. A beakerlike vase of the same size and shape, but with different oriental decoration, is in the Bristol Museum. It is possible that this beaker originally had matching jars which together formed a garniture, as in CWF accession 1959-134, 1-3.
