DescriptionCast pineapple finial with lower leaves attached with nut and bolt through center top of cover; two-stage cover shaped oval plan with the face of both stages with broad flaring flutes outlined with delicate engraved borders; bezel of cover fitting within rim of body; urn-shaped body of shaped oval plan with applied reeded molding at rim divisions into alternate plain sections and one chased with vertical fluting; plain sections broadly shaped and engraved below rim with borders of running foliate design; body supported on pedestal foot flaring to large base of shaped oval plan with engraved border and sectioning; two-part cast spout octagonally paneled with medial banding and applied leaf form on lower part of body; scrolled fruitwood handle attached to body with upper socket of stylized leaf form and lower one of attenuated central form.Label TextThis coffeepot of representative urn form was acquired with a matching sugar dish of the same year by John Robins (CWF accession 1958-457), as well as a teapot and cream pot of the same year by different makers (accessions 1958-458 and 1958-459). The latter two are engraved with the same decorative borders and the Piggot family crest.
