DescriptionLarge rectangular straight-sided container with one medium-sized and thirty-four small round holes in a recessed top. Blue tin glaze decorated in blue: on the sides, a figure fishing in an elaborate Chinese landscape incorporating fences, houses, and a willow tree; on the ends, a different oriental landscape. Top painted entirely in blue. Base flat and unglazed.Label TextDelft fragments decorated with trees similar to those on this brick have been excavated in Williamsburg at the William Finnie House (2BA.0863) and the Chiswell-Bucktrout House (2HA).
The London attribution is based on the color of the glaze and the decoration.
