DescriptionShallow, rectangular box with rounded corners; decorated on top surface with geometric lines; top hinges at rear, fastens at front with two brass catches; interior of lid stuffed with pink silk; bottom of case divided into small compartments on one side and lined with red silk threads.InscribedPrinted label attached to underside of lid of case reads: "S Read / in / St. Ann Lane / near Aldersgate / London / Maketh and Selleth all / Sorts of Scales Weight / & Steelyards."
