DescriptionChair, side. APPEARANCE: Yoke crest rail, depressed in center, with chamfered rear edges; vasiform splat with three-over-three pierced lobes; concave splat with molded top edge; outward flaring raking stiles ending in pointed terminals at crest, chamfered rear edges above seat rails, rear raking legs chamfered on inside edge; square section front legs with chamfered inside edges; upholstered over front and side seat rails, straight nail holes at bottom edge of seat rails, indistinct corner nailing pattern; four rectangular perimeter stretchers set flush with edges of legs, front and rear stretchers above side stretchers. CONSTRUCTION: All joints blind mortise-and-tenon and glued, except fornt and side stretchers, which are mortise-and-tenon and pinned, front right pin replaced; splat shoe nailed to rear rail; corner blocks glued and nailed to rails with cut nails.Markings"1960-24" ink on paper label on right rear leg under seat rail; "...." punched holes at bottom of splat and bottom of shoe.
