DescriptionA plain white fluted, pear shaped cream jug with flaring lip spout, loop handle dividing and terminating in acanthus molding, and flowering tea plant molded in high relief encircling the flanged foot and ascending the body spirally.Label TextThe shape of this jug reflects the silver influence of Chelsea's triangle period more than any other piece in the tea-plant pattern. The "cream ewer" (as this form is usually described in original Chelsea sale catalogues) survives in both white and enameled examples in several collections; some of the pieces are marked with the incised triangle.
