DescriptionMolded, soft-paste porcelain figure stand is in a quatre-foil shape. There are long, thin cut-outs in the concave sections. Each of the four panels is decorated: 1) molded trophy in relief of drums, cannonballs, and flags that are overglazed painted with red, blue, yellow, and black; 2) overglaze hand-painted cluster of flowers; 3) crossed flags painted with blue and red; 4) overglaze hand-painted cluster of flowers. The contours of the surface are highlighted with red and blue enamels.Label TextSome eighteenth century figures were mounted on elaborate stands like this example. Few of these historical pairings survive.
