DescriptionWoman's slip-on shoe of ivory-colored silk satin. Bound around edges and seams with silk ivory ribbon. Shoe has pointed toe. Large bow of ivory and faded brown ribbon is sewn to the front mouth of the shoe. Two-inch heel is broad at top and tapers to a narrow base. Interior lined with natural linen and leather insoles.Construction History:
1. Ca. 1785: Initial Construction
2. Possibly Ca. 1880s: Shoe front enlarged with small slit added at top of vamp. Bow trimming likely added at this point to cover alteration
