The upper plate shows a very old man being weighted down by another putting a weight of "excise" on him. The one holding weight also holds a paper of particulars in his hand. Another man is taking this from him. On a table are other weights of various taxes such as canels, land, malt, windows, etc. The second plate shows a lean gentleman holding a bag "crumbs of comfort for Chickens of Grace" towards another who grimaces with great distaste.
InscribedAlong upper left edge in blue ink: "GOOD NATURE OPPRES? bOUNTY, COMPLASANE, OPPRESSION, PAIN"
In iron gall ink along center of print: "Musick has Charmes[?]?"
