DescriptionPlate with incised foot ring. Blue tin glaze decorated in blue, manganese, mixed green, yellow, and red with a central geometric flower; on the rim, four repeats of other geometric and floral motifs.Label TextThis pattern is generally referred to as the Ann Gomm type because that name and the date 1793 replace the central rosette on three recorded plates with this decoration. Two other dated plates from this period in the same pattern are inscribed "John, Sarah Bowles 1792" and "Mary Johnson 1793," respectively. A blue and-white plate with a version of this pattern is dated 1749. The London attribution is based on the color and on the fact that fragments of plates with this pattern have been excavated in London at Lambeth High Street.
