DescriptionRectangular, triple folding top with projecting semi-circular front corners; top leaf opens to reveal a plain, "square" surface; second leaf opens to reveal a baize covered surface with circular, molded corners and four oval, dished wells, one on each side; third leaf opens to reveal inlaid checker and backgammon board with four, small, brass bound holes to receive "square", open backgammon frame; frame is stored in well beneath lower leaf; well is hinged at rear and opens by means of a small, brass finger catch at front; plain, straight veneered skirt, rounded at front corners, with small brass escutcheon at front center; four, straight, tapering, cylindrical legs, each with a carved tongue on knee, and terminating in small, pad feet; left rear leg swings out to form gate to support leaves; by means of hinged extension on gate, three heights can be formed to support the various leaves in a flat position.Woods: Primary: mahogany and mahogany veneer on deal; Secondary: oak bottom; ash gate (not original)
