DescriptionSilver basket, one of pair: Deep oblong body on spreading oblong base, the shoulders chased with a band of fluting, gadrooned rims with foliage at intervals, with reeded swing handle with anthemion at center.Label TextThe coat of arms engraved in the center of this basket is that of Charles Lennox (1764–1819), 4th Duke of Richmond and Lennox. In 1807, he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. This basket, one of a pair, was part of a large silver table service used in Dublin during his residency there until 1813.
