DescriptionGoblet, one of three, each on a spreading circular foot, cast and chased with a narrow band of stiff foliage, rising to a dentilated knop and inverted bell-shaped bowl, the lower part with an applied guilloche band and below the reeded rim a wide band of grapes, vines, and leaves on a matted ground, the lip molded, the body with an unidentified contemporary engraved coat-of-arms, crest and the motto "From the Lips to the Heart."InscribedUnidentified contemporary engraved coat-of-arms, crest and the motto "From the Lips to the Heart."
MarkingsMarked in relief on body opposite engraving and under band: 1) sponsor’s mark "IWS/WE" [Grimwade 1990 #1762; note that “S” and “E” are effectively worn off on each example in this group of drinking vessels]; 2) lion passant 3) leopard’s head crowned 4) date letter "R" for 1813/14; and 5) sovereign’s head duty mark
