DescriptionVoluted-edge frame decorated with beadwork in figural subjects including Hope (with anchor), Abundanita (with cornucopia), with two other unidentified allegorical figures, one seated holding bird on hand, other standing, serpent at feet, holding a scroll; also shown are flowers, birds, insects, and animals such as deer, hound, fox, and unicorn; background beads are white, with design in opaque and clear shades of yellow, orange, blue, green, coral, black, tan, and brown; mirror edge and outside scalloped edge are trimmed with narrow dark blue and white looped fringes (original); edge of frame (7/8") is covered with block printed cotton cloth in a design of minute birds, insects, flowers, and butterflies, in red, blue, and green.1676 (dated)
