DescriptionAndiron (one of a pair) having a plain, round ball-shaped finial with ring turned collar surmounting a tapering cylindrical bell metal column with fillet near center spreading out to form elongated pear-shaped vase on a plain rectangular plinth with cast moldings at top and bottom; circular domed boss applied at center; supported on plain "C" shaped legs with small bracket projection below plinth; legs terminate in large, flat disc feet; bell metal log stop which is a miniature replica of the upper section of the front member is riveted to iron log rest 1/4 of the way back; log rest is square in section, bent down at right angles at back to from rear leg; short, thin iron leg riveted through underside of rest behind log stop.MarkingsNone found
