Description"The two-piece back is maple, slab-cut, and marked with a medium-narrow figure which is prominent at the center and slopes downward. The flanks are without figure. The sides are of maple marked with an irregular, medium-broad, soft curl. The scroll is of plain maple. The two-piece top is spruce of strong graining, medium-narrow at the center and broadening to the flanks. The varnish is a transparent golden brown color." - William H. Moenning, 6 December 1968The body is single-purfled, front and back; the button at the top of the back is capped in ebony. The neck is of modern configuration, with the original scroll grafted on; the pegholes in the scroll have been bushed.
