DescriptionPlate with incised foot ring. Blue tin glaze decorated in medium blue: in the well, a rooted peony branch and overhanging mimosa; on the rim, three peony sprays and an outer concentric band; on the reverse rim, three small scrolls; on the base, the inscription "Elizabeth Holdman 1754".Label TextThe base of this delft plate is inscribed "Elizabeth Holdman 1754". The last name might also be read as Moldman. The initials on a privately owned plate dated 1738 include a letter H made somewhat similarly and what is without question a letter M. Two other plates from this service are recorded. The Liverpool attribution is based on the profile.
