DescriptionCircular with scattered bouquets of various flowers in purple, sienna, tan, yellow and green with molded and painted feather edge in dark brown and green, white ground.

Label TextEach of the three plates in this group is painted with different floral sprays; they are probably from a set of eight or more. Floral plates with a feather border may have been made as early as 1755 and continued to be produced through the Chelsea-Derby period. Other examples made as late as 1790 at Derby are believed to be replacements for Chelsea services. The feather edge was used on salt-glazed stoneware and was extremely popular on creamware made throughout England.
