DescriptionGlobe shaped with hinged gilt metal rims around opening, like an equator. On one side of equator are Europe, personified as Britannia who holds spear in her right hand with her left arm draped over shield and with British lion at her feet and a medieval lighthouse in background; also, America as the Indian princess wearing a skirt tof feathers and lying recumbent in the wilderness. Lower hemisphere with Africa, a black nativae, wearing a sheath of clth and beads, who holds along tusk like club and with an elephant in the backgroudn. In fourth quardrand is Asia, an Eastern drssedman, holding apole upon which perchees an exotic parakeet, a camel is in background.InscribedApparent date in black on rocks above inscription "Europe".
