DescriptionGroup figure representing the Continents; encircling central obelisk with gilded scrolls at top and resting on flower encrusted rocky base, are four figures representing the continents: Europe - female with flowered robe and crown holds an orb, trophies and horse at her feet; America - male with feathered loin cloth and head band, holds bow and arrow, crocodile at his feet; Asia - female wearing flowered robe with orange stomacher, with fruit in hand and headpiece, and with camel at ther feet; and Africa - black man with loin cloth and elephant headdress, holds wheat and vegetables in one hand and crayfish in other, and steps over lion.MarkingsNone found: although this piece does not bear a mark in the usual sense of the word, it does have on the reverse of the base "patch marks" characteristic of Derby of this period
