DescriptionLancashire type hacksaw of classic form with a turned ribbed handle mounted with a brass handle. Wide blade is tensioned by a prominent "ram's horn" screw.
Label TextThe metal-cutting hacksaw has changed very little since the 18th century. Many of this graceful type, produced in Britain’s industrial North, were sent to America. The Lancashire saw is identified by the split curl which anchors one end of the blade, and a tension screw, often decorative, at the other end of the frame.
