Label TextThis appears to be an unusually large plate rather than a small dish.


InscribedCrest and coat of arms framed by crossed ostrich plumes engraved on opposite sides of face of rim for the Jenison family. Owner's initials "TI," presumably for a member of the Jenison family, stamped on underside of well.
MarkingsIndistinct touch mark incorporating, in part, an anchor with a crown above the pointed end on the right side within a beaded circle on underside of rim (Peal MPM 5565; Peal Adenda 1598). Pseudo hallmarks (1) indistinct, (2) lion passant within a serrated rectangle, (3) possible leopard's head within a serrated rectangle, and (4) "EE" with pellets below within a shaped shield (Peal MPM and Addenda 1598, 5565).
