DescriptionWhite linen stockings or boot hose made of cut and sewn tabby-woven fabric. Each stocking is cut in five pieces on the bias, with seaming up side of ankles(clocks) and up center back. Narrow rolled hem at top thigh, where stockings become larger and have a casing for drawstring.Label TextAlthough they did not fit as nicely as knitted ones, stockings made out of cut and seamed woven fabric were inexpensive alternatives for laborers and the poor.
