DescriptionSquare tile. White tin glaze decorated in manganese with a scene depicting Christ healing the blind man (John 9:5): Christ laying his hands on the head of a kneeling figure flanked by two other figures, all encircled by two concentric bands; flower-head corners.Label TextThis biblical story is also depicted in reverse and in a version with only three people present. Tiles with this scene were produced at all three major potting areas. The Bristol attribution is based on the flower-head corners, which were used there widely. It is possible that these corners were also used in London.
