Label TextApproximately 130 biblical scenes are recorded on English delft tiles, many of which were copied from the more than 500 found on Dutch examples. This particular biblical scene does not appear on Dutch tiles, but it does appear on a privately owned English delft basket dated 1698. Better-painted versions of this scene are attributed to London. Fragments of a tile with this scene have been excavated in Lambeth at Fore Street.
