DescriptionBrightly colored painting of a city scene viewed from above. The viewer looks down on large buildings in the center of the canvas, a broad thoroughfare running horizontally across the painting behind the buildings in the foreground. On either side of the picture are two city streets running verticaly back towards the top of the painting. The streets are filled with horse-drawn and motorized vehicles, along with crowds of people. A large sign of a standing lion is portrayed in the top center of the painting, gracing a large pink and blue building. At the very top of the painting lightly painted are the tops of several skyscrapers, depicting a far-off view of the rest of the city.
MarkingsWritten in black paint in the lower right corner "M.L. O'KELLEY/1988/#13", and across the lower center edge is the title: "ON THE ROOF".
