DescriptionUnglazed stoneware teapot. The body of the teapot was thrown of brown stoneware, with a buff colored slip applied to the cylindrical sides and the center of the t op. Mold applied dragons of the (body) brown decorate each side, and there is a brown mold applied rococo border of rosettes and vine-like motifs around the top and bottom of the sides. Molded bamboo handle, and conical spout with bamboo-like band. Floral sprig of brown clay applied to top, flowing from crabstock finial.MarkingsPseudo-Chinese character impressed on base.
