"S RHUBARB." within strapwork cartouche containing shell at top center flanked by winged cherubs and winged angel's head at center bottom flanked by hanging flowers and tassels. Underglaze blue; base glazed.Label TextThis jar was intended to hold syrup of rhubarb. It is interesting to note that the name of the plant is in English, rather than rhabarb, an abbreviated form of the Latin rhabarbarum, as it appears on a songbird jar in the CWF collection (see accession 1965-204). This jar may be part of a set that includes accessions 1967-303, 1967-304, and 1967-305.
