DescriptionBox: oval, slightly waisted, with brass encircling top of bottom section and lid, and brass hinge; white enamel throughout painted yellow around bottom section. On lid, painted in black are trees, grass, a festooned urn on low pedastal, a church and foliage, and a scroll on which is painted "A / Reward / for / Merit". Inside lid is a mirror. Interior bottom section is white, with what appears to be excess yellow paint.Inscribed"A / Reward / for / Merit" painted on the top of the cover.
