DescriptionMan's handkerchief or "bandana" made of bright yellow plain-woven silk patterned with tie-dye spots. The tie dye motifs consist of diagonally positioned rectangles made up of dots arranged in rows of four, with each row having from two to six spots per row. The majority of the rectangles contain 24 spots (4 x 6). The rectangles are arranged in a half-drop repeat, with intermittant dots filling in. Selvages form the side finish, while very narrow hems finish the top and bottom. Fine cross and backstitches of black silk spell out "F. F. Cornell."ProvenanceEx coll: Tomlinson Collection
