DescriptionPortrait of a man seated in a red chair that is turned away from the viewer, facing the left of the composition. He sits forward, crosses his proper right leg onto his left knee, and looks to his left. His long, brown hair is tied with a black ribbon and lays against his upper back, and he wears a green jacket and dark shoes with large buckles. Behind him sit a fireplace, a yellow wall, and a red curtain hanging against a doorframe. Beneath him lies an ornate rug.ProvenanceBefore 1936 (H.J.
