Label TextThis band sampler, from the early eighteenth century, shows the transition of seventeenth-century sampler-making into the next century. Like the samplers that came before it, it has bands of text, and floral, and geometric designs. But it also has a detailed depiction of Queen Anne, the monarch who ushered Britain into the eighteenth century.
