DescriptionWriting table is rectangular with straight skirts and pierced brackets between the legs and skirt on all sides; supported on four straight legs with castors; legs consist of two outer faces with columnar turned leg support inside corner, blocked at top and bottom; rectangular top, molded on four sides, hinged at front and supported by ratcheted frame work in such a manner that it can be raised and set at various angles; top also hinged at rear and has slightly arched supports near front corners that are supported on steps inside front corner when angled towards rear; rectangular book rest fits into brass bound holes near front edge of top as well as at rear edge of top (can be used in either location depending on slant of top); front facade of front legs on wooden castors pulls forward with front skirt revealing compartmented drawer with green baize covered writing surface hinged at front with ratcheted frame support; drawer divided into side and center sections with side sections subdivided in half with half height bottoms; top edge of dividers double beaded; small quarter round drawer with three small square and one large quarter round compartment hinges out from proper left side of drawer for ink etc.; front fitted with single brass drawer pull and escutcheon.Inscribed"3" in pencil on rear of drawer back.
