DescriptionWoman's hand-sewn petticoat of white plain woven cotton with hem treatment consisting of four horizontal bands of cording. Cords grouped and arranged with four cords at the hem, four slightly smaller cords in the next row above, three cords in the next row, and 2 cords positioned sitting approximately halfway up the length of the garment. The bottom corded portion of petticoat is made of doubled fabric while the upper half is a single layer. Full skirt is gathered to waistband 1 1/4" wide and buttoned at center back with a placket opening about 9 1/2" deep. Rear gathers are slightly fuller than those at front. Twill tape hem binding.
