DescriptionThis is a double-woven coverlet in blue wool and natural cotton. It has an unusual bottom border design of large eagles facing straight ahead, capitol buildings, and small figures representing crouching monkeys. Side borders consist of double eagles with flags. The interior pattern is a variation of popular medallions formed by four roses. It is self-fringed on three sides and has cotton tape hand-sewn over top edge.MarkingsWoven twice into each lower corner block is "WOVE/IN/KNOX/COU/NTY/OHIO/BY/W.K.".
