DescriptionCoffeepot: The short splayed foot rises to a baluster-shaped body molded as a cauliflower with leaves around the base, handle, spout, and part of lid all painted in green. A two-part scroll handle with thumb rest and lower kick: the top portion of the handle is a modified S-scroll and the lower portion an out-turned C-scroll; the handle is opposite the slighly-curved spout molded with ribs along the length and an acanthus leaf juncture and tip; the spout strainer has 12 holes in a modified diamond pattern. The high-domed lid molded ensuite with the body and topped by a cauliflower floret knop; next to the knop juncture is a steam hole pierced through the cover. The underside of the coffeepot is trimmed revealing concentric lines; the underside of the foot is mainly unglazed with a few drips of green glaze evident.ProvenanceHistory prior to 1947 unknown.
