DescriptionSpoon: narrow elliptical bowl, with "rat-tail" on back, stem flattened terminating in "wavy-end" with upturned tip. Initials M T in block letters (owners) on back of handle.
Label TextThis spoon of unusual intermediate size was probably intended for general utility rather than for more gentrified or specialized use, such as one of a set of dessert spoons. Such distinctions were just being introduced into silver flatware at this time.
InscribedOwner's initials "MT" stamped on underside of handle.
MarkingsNo apparent touch mark. Secondary mark a quality "X" on underside of handle.
