DescriptionOctagonal with two holes pierced at top. Whitish tin glaze decorated in blue with the full arms of the Company of Apothecaries and banding on the edges. Reverse, edges, and pierced holes glazed.
Label TextAlthough in the past many mid to late eighteenth-century pill slabs have been attributed to Liverpool, some have floral swags below the motto, a decorative device sometimes found on late London domestic delft wares.
Inscribed"OPIFER QUE PER ORBEM DICOR." Full arms of the Company of Apothecaries.
