DescriptionThis is a T-shaped whole cloth quilt of plain-woven rust-red woolen quilted to a backing of yellow-gold plain-woven cotton warp /woolen weft textile in a pattern of squares set on point filled with curving petals. The squares are made of double lines crossing in a grid, spaced from 3/4 to 7/8 inches apart. The squares vary from 7 to 8 1/2 inches across. Each square on point is filled with three curving petals springing upwards from a single point at the bottom. Around the edges, repeated triangles are filled with one or two curving petals. A double row of stitching is worked around all the outside edges, spaced about 3/4 inches apart and starting about 1 1/8 inches from the outer edge. The filling or batting consists of dark brown woolen fibers. The quilting is worked in running stitches about 6 to 7 per inch. The edges are finished by turning the face fabric to the back by about 5/8 inches and stitching. Cut-outs for the posts of a tall-post bedstead measure about 17 inches in from the edges. Two woolen cord ties are stitched to the proper right cut-out only; there are no ties on the left cutout. The letters "H T" in red woolen chain stitches are on reverse side in top corner.Markings"H T" in red woolen chain stitches on reverse side
