DescriptionThis is a T-shaped wholecloth bed quilt made of a medium blue fabric. The quilted design features a large gadrooned vase. Out of the vase grow vines with leaves and flowers that fill the entire central portion of the quilt. The two sides and foot of the quilt are bordered with undulating leaf or feather plumes. Three initials (not decipherable) are quilted into the top left. The background quilting consists of parallel diagonal lines, and the quilting is stitched with 5 running stitches per inch. The face fabric is made of cotton warps and wool wefts. The backing fabric is a lighter blue color and has a white cotton warp and blue wool weft. Both fabrics are plain woven, though the top face has a finer count. The edges of the quilt are turned to the inside and stitched with running stitches. The batting, or filling, is wool and the quilting threads are cotton.MarkingsUndecipherable initials quilted into upper left.
