DescriptionBlue shell-edged pearlware plate with central polychrome high-temperature pigment under-glaze decoration in brown, yellow, green and blue. The colors used are similar to those associated with slip-cast hollow wares commonly referred to as Pratt Ware. The under-glaze decoration is composed of a central floral spray surrounded by four lozenge-shaped foliate-type designs. While shell-edged pearlware commonly survives, there are few examples with decoration of this type.ca. 1780
