DescriptionOn the obverse, a relief picture of the statue of Simón Bolívar by Pietro Tenerani, a student of Antonio Canova, that was erected in the Plaza Mayor (now called Bolívar), in Bogata, Columbia, surrounded by "SIMONI BOLIVAR LIBERATORI"; in the center, on either side of the statue, "AMICITIAE/MONVMENTVM;" on pedestal of statue, "AD LIBERTADOR."

On the reverse, a reproduction of the relief picture also executed by Tenerani that appears on the pedestal of the statue, showing Simón Bolívar holding a piece of paper (?; text on paper not easily legible) freeing two adult slaves (one male; one female); and one nursing infant slave (held by the female), with a palm tree in back of the female slave; surrounded by "SERVITUTIS ABROGATIO"; in exergue, "E BOGOTANO SIM. BOLIVAR/MONVMENTO/MDCCCXXXXVI.".
